Our introductory workshop is a brilliant way to get a feel for working with clay on the wheel - a practice which is known as “throwing”. Each participant will have their own wheel to work on. Whether you book for yourself or a group of friends, this is a wonderfully social and spirited introduction to the joys of throwing.
You will learn how to wedge (prepare the clay), center (secure the clay on the wheel), and throw (pull up the walls of the clay and shape your piece). This is truly an uplifting and inspiring experience. You will have enough time to throw multiple pots and can choose your best piece to be glazed and fired later on. Your chosen piece will be glazed and fired by us and you will be informed once they are ready for pick-up. Once fired, your pot will be food safe and microwave safe.
